Night Visual Flight Rating Course (N-VFR)

Entry requirements

To be eligible for the N-VFR course, you will need:

  • A valid EASA PPL (A) or LAPL (A) licence
  • Recent flying experience with CANAVIA*

 

*Have completed a licensing course or, alternatively, 20 hours of timebuilding.

Theoretical training

The theoretical training consists of a two-hour seminar, where the conditions of night flying and its particularities will be studied:

  • Optical illusions
  • Visual fatigue
  • Differences between day and night flying

Flight training

The flight training consists of 5 flight training hours in IFR aircraft at night, carried out in the environment of the International Airport of Gran Canaria, including:

  • First night flight experience
  • Night flight manoeuvres and navigation
  • Night cross-country flight
  • Night solo take-offs and landings

Thanks to our privileged location, we will have the possibility of flying among different international airports, allowing our students to become familiar with all the necessary procedures and skills as well as to perform night take-offs and landings safely.

The night visual flight rating course cannot be carried out independently. It is required to have completed a licensing course or, alternatively, 20 hours of timebuilding at CANAVIA.
