Instrument Flight Rating Course (IR-SE) / (IR-ME)

Entry requirements

To be eligible for the IR-SE / IR-ME rating course you will need:

  • 70 PIC hours to complete the multi-engine course (MEP)
  • Theoretical and instrumental course before the practical part of the course
  • 50 cross-country hours
  • Basic IR for the night flight course

Theoretical training

150 hours of theoretical training divided into the following subjects:

  • Air Law
  • Aircraft General Knowledge
  • Instrumentation
  • Flight Performance and Monitoring
  • Human Factors
  • Meteorology
  • Radio Navigation
  • IFR Communications
  • Flight Safety

Flight training

The flight training module consists of 51 flight hours carried out in the surroundings of the Maspalomas - El Berriel Aerodrome (GCLB), with cross-country flights to the different Canary Islands.

Thanks to our privileged location, we will have the possibility of flying among different international airports, which will allow our students to become familiar with all the necessary procedures and skills in one of the places with the best weather conditions in the world.
