Last August 11th marked a significant milestone for Canavia as we welcomed 2 brand-new Tecnam P2008JC aircraft to our bases in the Canary Islands.
The 3200 km journey began in the picturesque town of Capua, Italy (LIAU), where the planes took their first flight towards their new home at our training base in Maspalomas.
Embarking on a journey of both distance and adventure, our planes made stopovers at various points along their route:
- After departing from Capua, they touched down in the alluring coastal city of Olbia (LIEO); from there, the azure waters led them to Menorca (LEMH).
- Continuing their voyage southward, the planes ventured into the heart of Spain, making a pause in the city of Valencia (LEVC), and then navigated onward to Jerez (LEJR).
- Crossing international borders, the planes then found themselves over the landscapes of Essaouira (GMMI), Morocco - a frequent stopover on our training flights.
- The final stretch took the planes to the volcanic island of Lanzarote (GCRR), and shortly after they descended upon the runway of their new home: the Maspalomas - El Berriel Aerodrome (GCLB).
Totaling more than 18 hours of flight time, including the occasional night flight, the new aircraft have been ferried by our instructors Alejandro and Amílcar, along with our commercial pilot students Pablo and Juan Pablo; thank you!
As is tradition, a warm welcome awaited the planes and their crew at our home base - a little celebration with snacks and refreshing cold drinks after the long trip.
Special thanks to Tecnam and to all the staff who made this journey possible!
